Laying a lawn in Summer?

This is a lawn i laid in summer 2022, one of the hottest summers on record. Normally i would only advocate laying a lawn in September or early October as the temperature is lower and there is more precipitation. I ordered the turf in advance after prepping the ground. However, on the weekend of delivery the heatwave hit and i came down with covid. The client wanted the job done, so i cracked on and got it laid. At some points i was wishing death because i couldn’t keep in enough water due to the heatwave and being riddled with Covid. Doing all this on my own was a challenge to say the least.

Before i laid the turf, i installed a patio for chilling and having BBQ’s in the summer months. (I will post some pictures at a later date of the patio installation) As you can see there was a lot of clearance to be done and levelling of the ground. When the turf had its first cut, after 6 weeks, i installed a pathway with some reused slate. What was a very overgrown space, now resembles a garden.
