Survey for Wildlife

Whenever undertaking any gardening with or without machines it’s good practice to survey for wildlife which could be disturbed, injured or killed due to the activity you are about to undertake. Whilst doing some strimming at a property, I checked the long grass by running my foot and hands through it. I normally expect to find mice, frogs or even toads. However, underfoot, something felt rather soft. I wasn't expecting to find this……

After I had discovered my prickly friend, I covered him with cut grass and left it undisturbed.
