Another Meadow

I have sown a few meadows during the spring expecting rainfall to help the growth and development of the flora. However, from late April to July, precipitation was lacking which doesn’t help plants to grow. Ideally, it is a good idea to sow a meadow in the autumn so that plants have a period to over winter and set in their roots, ready for any possible droughts in the spring or summer.

Despite the lack of rain, this meadow hasn’t done that bad, it will look much better as the years go on. When visiting the site I counted numerous invertebrate species, including holly blue, meadow brown, small skipper, small tortoise shell and a very territorial small copper.
